Technician setting up a red magnetic drill under a large steel structure on site
The Mactech MD414 magnetic drill sets up quickly on nearly any ferrous surface. It offers 14.5 in of travel, takes up to a 3 in annular cutter or a 1.5 in twist drill, and runs on air, hydraulic or electric motor packages.

The MD414 is a compact, portable magnetic drill for on-site jobs that need quick setup and strong drilling. Its magnetic base attaches to nearly any ferrous surface, and an optional hanger bracket sets the drill at a fixed distance from the top of a pipe or structure.
The drill has 14.5 in of travel and a 1.25 in straight quill. It takes annular cutters up to 3 in (76 mm) and twist drills up to 1.5 in (38 mm). Height with motors is 30.3 to 43.6 in with the magnet, and weight with motors is 58 to 68.5 lb including the 35 lb magnet.
Five motor packages are available with air, hydraulic or electric motors. Welding brackets support more complex drilling setups, and a variety of arbors and tool holders is offered.
The MD414 suits on-site drilling where a drill press cannot reach the part.
