Diamond wire saw

Mactech Articulating Diamond Wire Saws

DWS-40a-AF-SS and DWS-60a-AF-SS for casing and conductor cuts from 22 in to 60 in

Mactech articulating diamond wire saws cut casings, conductors and heavy-wall structures from 22 in to 60 in, including below the marine mudline. A guillotine-style articulating frame needs only about 24 in of clearance around the casing.

Overview

Cuts below the mudline with minimal dredging

The articulating diamond wire saw is a guillotine-style saw for tricky conductor removals. Its articulating design reaches casings in hard-to-reach excavations and coffer dams with minimal dredging, and it is purpose-built for cutting below the marine mudline, including subsea jobs.

Low axial clearance and a vertical stance mean the saw needs only about 2 ft of clearance around the casing. It suits multi-string applications and heavy-wall structures such as legs and cross members.

Two models cover the range. The DWS-40a-AF-SS cuts from 22 in to 40 in and runs on 15 gpm at 3000 psi of drive hydraulics. The DWS-60a-AF-SS cuts from 26 in to 60 in with 40 gpm at 3000 psi. Feed and clamp functions are also hydraulic.

Applications

Where the articulating saw works

The saw is made for decommissioning cuts where access around the casing is limited.

Articulating diamond wire saw lifted by crane together with a cut section of conductor pipe

Conductor removal

Guillotine-style cuts on conductors, lifted out once the cut is complete.

Below-mudline cutting

Cuts below the marine mudline, including subsea jobs, with minimal dredging.

Multi-string casings

Cutting through multi-string casings and heavy-wall legs and cross members.
