Mactech LC Clamshell Portable Lathes

802LC to 816LC split-frame lathes for pipe from 0.5 in to 16 in OD

Mactech LC clamshell portable lathes cut and bevel pipe from 0.5 in to 16 in OD in place. The split-frame design is light but rigid and needs minimal radial and axial clearance, so it fits on in-line, closed-loop pipe.

Overview

Cutting and beveling small pipe where it runs

The LC series is a family of split-frame clamshell lathes for in-situ pipe cutting. They cut and bevel pipe from 0.5 in to 16 in OD across all schedules and materials, and the cutting is spark-free, which suits hazardous environments.

The frame is lightweight but rigid and needs minimal radial and axial clearance. The two halves close around the pipe, so the lathe installs on in-line, closed-loop pipe without opening the line. Several bearings support the rotating ring.

Eight models make up the range: 802LC, 804LC, 806LC, 808LC, 810LC, 812LC, 814LC and 816LC. The 802LC takes pipe from 0.5 in to 2 in OD, and the 816LC takes pipe from 10 in to 16 in OD.

Drives and setups can be configured for the job. Air drive systems come with an air caddy that filters and oils the supply air.

Applications
