Overview

Hanging parts washed in a spray tunnel

In the ITF overhead conveyor tunnel washer, the parts hang on an overhead aerial conveyor that moves either continuously or step by step. The conveyor speed and the tunnel length are set by each customer's cycle time and production needs.

The washing process combines chemical, thermal and mechanical action with high pressure spraying to remove the contaminants.

Inspection doors at each washing station sit on the side opposite the water tanks, pumping system and filters. The stainless steel spray manifolds stand on adjustable supports, and the spray pressure is watched with pressure gauges and set with ball valves. ITF runs a Testing Center for process simulations and quality checks before the engineering proposal.
