Timber Sorting Line

Möhringer Sorting Lines for Finished Timber

Horizontal sorting lines, box sorting systems and transversal sorting

Möhringer sorting lines sort finished timber by length, width and thickness after scanning. Horizontal sorting lines and box sorters handle up to 80 boards per minute, and transversal sorting suits smaller companies.

Overview

Three ways to sort sawn timber

The horizontal sorting line sorts products by length, width and thickness, with a freely configurable sorting program for each level based on scanning of the incoming products. Automatic level filling, a PC-based fill-level indicator and board-count linkage for automatic buffer stacking are standard. Separate conveyors fill each layer while it is emptied onto a discharge conveyor and passed to a freely selectable stacking unit, at about 80 boards per minute.

In the box sorting system, or tray sorter, each box is freely programmed by length, width and thickness. The boxes lower according to their fill level for gentle transfer and empty automatically onto a discharge conveyor underneath that feeds the stacking unit. The next free box is selected automatically, so there is no waiting time, and capacity reaches up to 80 boards per minute.

Transversal sorting is an economical solution, especially for smaller companies. Hook sorting and chain sorting both sort products mechanically by length into different carriages or bands. For all systems, the number of layers or boxes and the length, width and thickness ranges are designed to customer requirements.

Softwood sawmills

Normal or inclined box sorting handles side boards in high-output softwood sawmills at up to 80 boards per minute.

Short pallet boards

Gentle placement onto the buffer suits short pallet boards and softwood products.

Sensitive or very short boards

Level (story) sorting is designed for sensitive or extremely short boards.

Smaller companies

Hook or chain transversal sorting sorts by length into carriages or bands.
