Large construction timber
The band saw on a positioned base frame keeps the main product edge on the zero line.
Möhringer BBS.V-ML log band saws come as single or tandem machines on a base inclined by 17°. Forward and backward sawing, hydraulic blade tensioning and pneumatic tension control keep the cut precise and output high.

In the single version, the band saw is fixed, or it sits on a base frame positioned to the cutting thickness. This suits large construction timber: the edge of the main product sits at the zero line and the side board thickness is set by positioning the band saw. In the tandem version, the first band saw is adjustable and the second fixed, or both are adjustable. The BBS.V-ML series is preferably built as a tandem, with only 90 mm between the two band saws thanks to cantilevered roller bearings.
The machine is inclined by 17°, so sawn timber slides off gently, the waney edge lies on the upper side and the log aligns quickly. Sawing in both the forward and backward direction raises performance.
Hydraulic tensioning with linear guiding has a stroke of up to 600 mm, so blades of various lengths can be used. Pneumatic tension equilibration keeps the tensioning pressure constant, even with different blade thicknesses, and reacts quickly to peak tensions. Top and bottom pressure guides can be changed quickly, and a master jig is included for setting the spare set.
Single and tandem set-ups cover main products and side boards.

Cuts through several side boards down to the edge of the main timber are possible.
