Overview
Measuring, calculating and edging in one line
Boards and planks are fed without pre-sorting and measured during cross feed, which saves space. Triangulation lasers read the board from top and bottom, so boards do not need to be turned, and the system finds the board contour and waney edge. A quality recognition scanner can be added.
The optimising computer calculates the ideal edging line from the specification, waney edge and board curve. Cutting ranges are set by dimension, value or quality, with parameters for full wood use, fixed-step cutting, waney-edge proportion and quantity limits. An integrated transversal cross-cut trims the tips before edging.
On the positioning table, the board is fixed and aligned to the edging line while digital positioning controllers set the saws. Feed speed adjusts to the board thickness. A centric cut or a cut parallel to the waney edge produces lamellae and cants in softwood and hardwood.
At the outfeed, a patent-pending outfeed edging unit separates edgings from laths and boards without stopping the material, or an outfeed separating conveyor handles cants and multiple laths. Products are sorted and stacked using the dimensions from the measuring computer.
