Large-diameter log lying on a V-turner of a log carriage in a sawmill hall
The Möhringer FlexiDrive is a universal log carriage for band saw lines in softwood and hardwood. Separately positioned clamping heads hold each log precisely, and brake energy is recovered on every carriage return.

Band sawing often involves considerable idle time, so shorter cycle times and higher flexibility matter. The FlexiDrive log carriage is made for softwood and hardwood, with gentle log handling and precise cutting.
The newly designed clamping heads are positioned separately and precisely by fast servo adjustment. The carriage is divided, so each of three or more clamping heads can move lengthwise and every log length can be clamped in the right place.
The carriage is driven by cable winches with hydrostatic or electromechanical drives and cable drums of 500 or 750 mm diameter. A wheel-and-disc drive or a hydraulic servo-cylinder are alternatives. The hydraulic power pack stays outside the carriage, which saves weight and makes the carriage more dynamic, and brake energy is recovered on each return.
Two types are offered: FlexiDrive 1.000 with 1000 mm clamping head opening and FlexiDrive 1.200 with 1200 mm, both with 1000 mm clamping claw opening and 1370 mm track width.
Turners and clamping heads adapt the carriage to large, long and difficult logs.

A V-turner handles large-diameter logs on the carriage.
A hydraulic log turner rotates the log on the FlexiDrive before the next cut.
Lengthwise movable clamping heads fix longer logs precisely.
The carriage is made for both wood types, with gentle handling and precise cuts.
