Overview

One wheel design for shot peening and foundry work

The Hyperion blast wheels are designed with a flexibility concept, so they suit a wide range of uses from shot peening to foundry work. They are reversible and can turn clockwise or anticlockwise with the same spare parts.

There are two main types: the DD series with direct drive, where the motor is mounted directly on the support structure, and the SP/SPS spindle series, driven by the motor through a trapezoidal belt and pulley system. Disks of different diameters and blade lengths give versions from the 330 to the 500 series, with blade widths of 50, 75, 100 and 140 mm and power from 4 to 110 kW.

The 'Heavy Duty' design uses a double disk blade holder for balance and shot flow concentration, straight or curved blades depending on the process, and protection plates in X120Mn12.5 anti-wear steel inside a thick steel housing.
