Overview
Deep hole drilling for tube sheets
The FMM is an Innse-Berardi multi-spindle drilling machine for deep holes in heat exchanger tube sheets up to 1000 mm thick. It is aimed at the nuclear and petrochemical industries, where drilling quality is critical.
Modular spindles work with BTA and gundrill technologies. X and Y travels are customized, and 2, 3 or 5 independent drilling units move in transverse and vertical directions with common or independent feeds and NC-adjustable pitch.
Hydrostatic guideways on the X axis and linear guideways with roller pads on the Y and Z axes give rigidity and vibration damping, also over long vertical travels. A CNC-controlled vertical carriage keeps the drilling straight and accurate, and the large working envelope finishes workpieces with up to 14000 holes in one set-up.
IB2DCS software, developed for the FMM, programs and manages drilling in a fully automated, configurable way through a user-friendly interface.
