Blue mobile welding gantry with access stairs and robots over a steel welding platform
The DIG micropanel welding system welds small ship panels with two robots on a mobile gantry. 3D vision and contact sensing find the welds, so there is no programming, and parts can be placed freely on the platform.

The system includes two robots, a mobile gantry and a welding platform. Several workpieces can sit on the platform at once, and the dual robots also weld stiffener corners.
3D vision and contact sensing locate the welds and read the process data, so the robots work without manual positioning or teaching. Welding programs are generated automatically, and corrections are easy to make on a touch-screen interface with simple selection-based operation.
Real-time deformation compensation handles thin-plate distortion, and a pre-engineered process database shortens setup. The system can be installed in an existing workshop or linked into a sequential production line with panel transport.
DIG built the system for ship micro-panels and block work.
