DIG block and block panel welding systems hang several robots from a gantry to weld large hull sections. Programs come straight from 3D design data, and the robots avoid stiffeners and obstacles while welding together.

The block robot welding system uses a large double-beam gantry with several robots suspended from it. It reads structural models from 3D design software, identifies weld coordinates and process parameters, and generates the welding programs without manual teaching.
The block panel welding system mounts one or more robots on a moving gantry for micro panels, webs and bulkheads. Gantry and robot motion are synchronized to cover a large work area.
Offline simulation and parametric programming support vertical and horizontal crossing welds, patch welds, upward vertical welds and fillet welds. A process macro library holds multi-layer, multi-pass and deep-penetration welding, and real-time deformation compensation adjusts parameters during welding.
DIG lists these jobs for its block and panel welding systems.
