Profile Cutting Line

DIG Profile Cutting Line

Robot plasma cutting line for bulb, angle, flat and T-bar profiles

The DIG profile cutting line prepares shipyard steel profiles from storage to sorting. A robot plasma cutter cuts any 3D shape on bulb, angle, flat and T-bar sections, and the line can link to the workshop MES.

Overview

From profile storage to sorted parts

The line combines storage, straightening, edge milling, edge shot blasting, robot plasma cutting and sorting. Modules are chosen to suit the shipyard, and the line can also include saw cutting, end cleaning, flash-welded length extension, marking and fume extraction.

Profiles of different sizes are stacked on the infeed and rolled in as needed. The robot plasma cutter is laser-calibrated and cuts arbitrary 3D shapes, and cutting runs autonomously from a single operator command. Profile types are changed by replacing the straightening rollers.

Cutting programs are generated from 3D drawing data imported from ship design platforms, with a customizable macro library. DIG's warehouse software connects to MES and ERP systems for work allocation, task tracking and traceability.
