Overview
High-speed gantry with linear motors
ESAGON is a 3- or 5-axis gantry machining centre for high accuracy, high dynamics and high finish quality. Linear motors on all axes give fast, smooth movement with no mechanical wear.
The rotating table (120 rpm) and the tilting table (60 rpm) are driven by torque motors. The base is a monobloc cast-iron structure, and the ram is a box structure in a special ultralight alloy. The naturally symmetrical structure keeps behaviour constant under temperature changes and processing stresses.
Travels are 1,200 x 750 x 700 mm, with feeds up to 120,000 mm/min. The spindle offers up to 37 kW, 117 Nm and 27,000 rpm with a fixed vertical spindle head. A fully closed, compact enclosure gives the operator a clear view and protection from chips and water, and palletizing options allow integration into flexible production systems.
