Polishing flat surfaces without stretching defects
The C.N.C.R. unit is a further development of COSMAP's CNC polishing unit. It was designed to improve polishing on flat surfaces while keeping the flexibility of servo-controlled, multi-axis CNC machines, and it can treat any kind of surface.
After brushing flat surfaces, small defects in the raw material, known as pinholes, are easy to see. An additional rotating axis lets the unit move around the surface being polished, so the defects are not stretched but smoothed and blended with the rest of the surface. As a result, even larger flat surfaces can be processed on a rotary table.
