The Taco HS Series are single-stage, double-suction horizontal split case pumps for water circulation in heating, air conditioning, pressure boosting, cooling water transfer and water supply systems. They are designed for efficient operation and easy servicing.
Each pump has a heavy-duty split casing and a bronze double-suction impeller that is hydraulically and dynamically balanced. The removable upper casing gives access to the rotating assembly without disturbing the piping, and bearings and mechanical seals can be serviced without removing the top casing.
A short, rigid shaft reduces shaft deflection, seal wear and bearing loading.
Pressure, Temperature & Connections
- Working pressure: standard 175 PSIG (1,210 kPa); optional 300 PSIG (2,070 kPa), subject to pressure–temperature limits.
- Fluid temperature up to 250°F (120°C).
- Connection size: 6 inches.
- ANSI Class 125 flanges; optional Class 250 flanges.
Materials
- Casing and cover: ASTM A48 Class 30A cast iron for Class 125; ASTM A536 Grade 65-45-12 ductile iron for Class 250.
- Impeller: bronze, hydraulically and dynamically balanced.
- Shaft: AISI 1045 carbon steel; optional Type 416 or 410 stainless steel.
- Replaceable bronze casing wear rings and shaft sleeves.
- Mechanical seal: carbon rotor, Ni-Resist seat and EPT elastomer.
Base, Drive & Seal Flushing
- Reinforced welded steel base with integral drip pan and ¾-inch drain; grouting recommended.
- Flexible coupling drive with standard NEMA and IEC motor options.
- Standard seal recirculation line; optional filter and abrasive separator.
Easy Maintenance
Quick access to bearings and seals simplifies maintenance.
Replaceable Wear Rings
Replaceable wear rings avoid replacing the casing during wear-ring servicing.
