Overview

Molybdenum-tungsten steel for cutting tools

SIRAPID steels are high-speed steels alloyed with molybdenum and tungsten, produced by SIJ Metal Ravne and distributed and serviced by HTS Group / Ravne Steel Center. They are designed to reach high hardness and keep it during demanding tool operation.

The steel provides wear and shock resistance for tools exposed to high cutting speeds, friction and temperature. It is hardened to approximately 62–67 HRC and keeps its hardness well at tooling working temperatures.

It is used for knives, drill bars, milling cutters, reamers, saw blades, broaches, turning and planing tools, wear-resistant inserts, Sendzimir rolls and other cold-work tools.
