Ship panels
Butt welding of medium-thick hull plates into panels.
The DIG single-side welding system joins medium-thick plates from one side and forms the weld on both sides, using the FCB or FAB method. Plates no longer need to be turned over, which suits ship panels and thick plates.

With the FCB or FAB method, medium-thick plate panels are welded from one side while the weld forms on both sides. The approach also suits thick plate work.
Compared with double-sided welding, it removes the step of turning the plate over. The line usually needs a maintenance pit for repairs on the reverse side, which the buyer and DIG plan together.
