Biometra TAdvanced from Analytik Jena is a PCR thermal cycler with a block quick-change system and 12 block modules: 96-, 384- and 60-well, silver or aluminium, single or twin. Up to 6 °C/s heating suits NGS library prep.
Biometra TAdvanced is the flexible member of the Biometra family. One base unit takes 12 different block modules – for 0.2 mL tubes and plates, 0.5 mL tubes and 384-well plates – which are exchanged in seconds without tools.
Silver blocks reach heating rates of up to 6 °C/s; twin blocks run two independent protocols at the same time. Gradient versions spread a linear temperature gradient across the block to optimise annealing temperatures in one run.
Fast ramping and tight temperature uniformity give reproducible amplicons for the next steps of the workflow, for example DNA library preparation for Next Generation Sequencing (NGS).
