About iTOXcontrol
iTOXcontrol is an online early-warning system for the chemical toxicity of waste, surface, drinking and process water. It signals sudden peaks of chemical and other toxic pollution, such as heavy metals, within 30 minutes, so operators can act before damage spreads.
The analyzer uses the decrease in light of luminescent bacteria (Vibrio fischeri) as the measure of toxicity – the same principle as the internationally standardised ISO 11348 test, used in ecotoxicology since the 1980s.
