About BACTcontrol
BACTcontrol detects bacterial activity in water and works as an online screening monitor for total and specific bacteria. It complements the official culture methods as an early-warning system.
The analyzer measures the enzyme activities of β-galactosidase (coliforms), β-glucuronidase (E. coli) and alkaline phosphatase (total activity, biomass). Reagents with a fluorescent indicator are added; fluorescence increases when the enzyme is present. Results come in 1–2 hours, compared with 24–48 hours for classical cultivation.
