M-Node smart sensors from Badger Meter (ATi) are complete, ultra-low-power digital water quality sensors for 16 parameters. They communicate over an RS-485 bus with Modbus protocol and work in MetriNet systems or directly with a PLC.

Overview
About M-Node Smart Sensors
Each M-Node is a complete sensor and transmitter in a miniaturised body. Electronics are galvanically isolated from the power supply and communication link, zero and span data are stored in the node, and an internal clock records run time and can flag when calibration is due.
All nodes communicate on a common RS-485 sensor bus using Modbus protocol and draw their power from the bus. Each node has an IP67 M8 water-tight connector, so sensors can be added or removed without affecting the rest of the system.
Besides MetriNet and SiteBox systems, M-Nodes can be used on their own by system integrators who poll the sensors from their own PLC; setup and calibration are done with the Q51 Mobile Calibrator.
