In-Line Brinell Testing System

CISAM-ERNST BRE-AUT Automated In-Line Hardness Testing Systems

Fully automatic Brinell hardness testing systems for production lines

The BRE-AUT systems from CISAM-ERNST are automatic in-line Brinell hardness testers that prepare the surface, test, read the indentation with Ernst e-brio and send the result to the production line.

Overview

Brinell hardness control inside the production line

The BRE-AUT series is a family of automatic in-line Brinell hardness testing systems for heavy industrial production. It is used when fast, repeatable and fully documented hardness control is needed directly inside the production line, and it can be integrated with machinery from other vendors through PLC communication and industrial protocols.

Depending on the application, the system prepares the surface by grinding, lamellar wheel or milling, measures the hardness, reads the Brinell indentation with the Ernst e-brio optical system, stores the results on an industrial PC and sends the result to the line.

For train wheels from 700 mm to 1300 mm diameter, the system moves or rotates the wheel by 25 mm and repeats the test when the first result is outside the required range. Non-conforming parts can be marked by spray or separated by pass/fail selection, and the machines are built for continuous operation in harsh production environments.

Benefits

Why it fits production lines

Faster line testing. Hardness testing runs directly in the production line.
Less operator handling. Automatic reading removes operator reading errors and manual handling.
One automatic cell. Surface preparation and hardness testing are combined in one system.
Full documentation. Results are stored and sent directly to the factory PLC system.
Automatic pass/fail. Non-conforming parts can be marked or separated automatically.
Custom layouts. Systems are customized to the layout, product geometry and testing regulation.
